Fire Weather Discussion as of 8:00 p.m. PDT, Saturday, September 23, 2023:

The daily Fire Weather Discussion has ended for the 2023 Fire Season. It will only be updated if conditions warrant until the start of the next fire season in the summer of 2024.

Aviation discussion as of 6:45 p.m. PDT Wednesday, May 1, 2024 valid through 10:00 p.m. PDT Thursday, May 2, 2024:

VFR ceilings will likely persist this evening with isolated MVFR showers ending by sunset with at least partial clearing taking place. Some MVFR stratus development is likely in the vicinity overnight and lasting through mid morning on Thursday before VFR conditions return with another afternoon of scattered MVFR showers. Cloud bases will generally be near 7,500 feet ASL with tops of showers around 20,000 feet ASL. Can’t rule out a stray lightning strike or two either. Winds look to be generally light and variable around 10 mph or less but gusty, erratic winds will be possible near showers and thunderstorms.
